About Lake County Antenna Specialists Lake County Antenna Specialists (LCAS) was established in 1985, created and operated by Ron Wise. Specializing in full view satellite dishes ranging up to 20’ diameter, Lake County Antenna Specialists quickly became recognized as one of the top installation, sales and service companies in the Northwest Indiana area. As times change, so did satellites. Among the most of prevalent problems was the size of the dish. While everyone “loved” their satellite TV, they did not like the idea of such a huge dish sitting in their yards. Soon, the 33” dish was released, under the name Primestar. Primestar offered programming much the same as the C band dish, but not nearly the amount or variation as the full view dish offered. Lake County Antenna Specialists stayed with the times and offered the same, sales, installation and service with Primestar as they did with the full view dish, yet remaining faithful to their customers that remained adamant in keeping their large dishes. In 1995, DIRECTV was introduced to the nation, offering more programming channels and more competitive pricing. The dish became smaller, resulting in what is now known as the 18” mini dish. DIRECTV soon bought Primestar. Again, along with the times changing, Lake County Antenna Specialists changed with them. Still, refusing to give in completely, and remained faithful to their full view dish customers. Today, C band satellite is working it’s way out of the market and focus is on the small dishes. However, LCAS is determined to continue to service their full view customers until there simply is no more. We are now considered “dinosaurs” in the field. While most other sales and service companies have dropped the field, LCAS is still there. In 2000, satellites took a turn to the computer users, offering an alternative to dial up to those not offered Cable, DSL or Wireless Services. Lake County Antenna immediately added the new line called DirecPC to their product line. DirecPC offered one-way high speed internet. The high speed dish took off like wildfire. In approximately one year’s time, DirecPC released the two-way high speed system and called it DirecWay, another product offered by LCAS. In 2002, satellite took yet another turn. They released satellite radio. XM Satellite Radio. On January 1, 2004, Lake County Antenna incorporated a new division to our company. The merge is known as “Lake County Antenna, - XM Radio Division”. Our goal is to target commercial establishments, offering quality digital satellite radio for businesses that are as small as a single office to as large as bars, restaurants, hospitals, etc. We can connect into existing sound systems or design whole new sound systems depending on the needs/wants of our customers, with or without the use of XM Radio. |
